The Circle of Life

The continuous striking of the hammer,
The continuous ticking of the clock,
The continuous whirring of the fan,
The continuous bedlam of noises outside.
Life is a continuous process
Seeming to go round and round in circles.
Until one day you fly off at a tangent.
And go out of your radius of comfort.
But your sphere has a pull of its own.
Dragging you into its field as you prepare for more and more rounds.
Tramping the circumference and wearing it thin.
Beyond recognition.
As we orbit something we don’t fully comprehend.
Trying to stay in the same revolution as everyone else.
Not realising that life is an unending line.
And comes full circle only when it ceases to be.
